Despite what you'd think, being the Boss in a small food business isn't all glamour and world travel. So, when we thought up this new competition, I pulled rank and decided I'd be the one to announce it!
 
Roll out that wheel of Parmesan Reggiano D.O.P.. Maestro, drumroll please!
 
Competition: never a bad thing in my mind. It keeps us fresh, creative, innovative, focused on our customers, and focused on a quality product at a good price. I think customers and business owners alike, benefit from a little healthy, positive competition. So, in the spirit of healthy competition, your attention please!
 
 I'm announcing our, Creative Grilled Cheese Contest, A.K.A "The Comté-tition" A.K.A Boy Meets Grill, A.K.A. Hey Grillfriend!
 
There you go, I made myself laugh again. Uncool, I know!
 
The Good For You Market Cheesemonger is looking for your most creative grilled cheese sandwich. Before y'all hit the snooze button, this ain't your, "Kiss My Grits" style of cookin' ! We want your bestest, most creative, delicious slice of Yum that you've personally created. Hit me with your best shot, fire away!
 
The 'bread' part of the cheese can be anything from traditional wheat flour breads, through gluten-free breads, beer breads, jalapeno breads, corn breads, tortillas, farinata breads, heck, maybe even no bread! Let your creativity take you to surprising, and yummy places! Fillings are acceptable - meat, seafood, mustard, mayo, confits, preserves, conserves, fruits, vegetables, balsamics, oils, you decide.
 
Since this is a 21 and over Comté-tition, feel free to use wine, port, beer, champagne, sherry, you decide...
 
The Comté-tition will be open to recipe entries from 7/28/10 - 10/31/10.
 
There will be a nominal $25 admission fee to gain entry to the Gala Judging Ceremony. Please note that in order to raise as much money as possible for our non-profits, we cannot 'comp' entry fees. What does the entry fee get you?  

 

1.  The satisfaction of helping our non-profits!

3.  You get to hear the fabulous Viki Dee perform gratis!
